The needles of warp knitting machines must be adjusted very accurate. The pitch goes up to 40 needles per inch. Since the lower and upper needle bars need to pass each other at high speed and there need be space for the yarn, a very precise adjustment is necessary. A single needle bar can be several meters long and purely manual and visual adjustment is quasi impossible. We developed a machine vision based system to assist the operator with this task.
